Experience Chase and all it has to offer! Boating, fishing, golfing, hiking and mountain biking are a few of the pursuits that are just outside your door when you live in warm and sunny Chase. A strong sense of community is evident in the dedication shown by residents with their avid volunteering, event planning and fantastic parades.
The downtown core is lined with seasonal blooms and is easy walking distance to a variety of specialty stores and restaurants. Choose from coffee shops, bakeries and grocery outlets to stop in for a beverage or pick something up ‘to go’ and enjoy a picnic in the park.
Sunshore Golf Course invites golfing enthusiasts to enjoy this exceptional 9 hole course. Sunshore is described as the “jewel of the Village.” With a Par 32, this course is ideal for families and offers affordable fun with splendid views of the Little Shuswap Lake and tree lined slopes of the Highlands Range. Sunshore was created in the late 1960’s as part of a development on the site of the old Hysop Farm. In 2006, further development threatened the existence of the golf course. A group of local residents rallied together to purchase the golf course through the Chase Recreation Society. The reconfigured layout features 1,899 yards over nine holes.
If spending a day relaxing on the water sounds delightful, then Little Shuswap Lake is the place to be. Relax and enjoy yourself at the public beach, dipping into the refreshing water by diving off the recently upgraded Wharf. Opportunities exist for a multitude of water activities such as boating, kayaking, canoeing or just floating away the day. The laughter of children and the hum of excitement can be heard from the public beach at Memorial Park, where you will also find a boat launch. A second boat launch can be found at Mill Park.
If hiking interests you, there are a range of trails to explore on the Switchbacks, with trails being accessible from many locations within Chase. The views are exceptional and you will find trails for all hiking abilities. Many trails follow Chase Creek through the community, which provides for a relaxing walk around town — what a way to explore Chase!
Chase has a number of softball diamonds for your enjoyment and there is plenty of opportunity to join a league! You will also find the newly renovated tennis courts can also be used for pickleball.
In the winter, enjoy over 14 km of nordic and snowshoe trails that the Skmana Ski and Snowshoe Club has maintained for more than 30 years. Just 20 minutes out of the Village, it is a true gem of a spot for fun in the snow with the whole family. Chase also has a curling club, bowling alley and a monthly coffee house to keep folks entertained through the winter months.
With the soon-to-be completed twinning of the Trans-Canada Highway from Kamloops, Chase will be an even easier commute. Come for a visit and experience it yourself!
