UPDATE: Please note that due to winter conditions, paving on Brooke Drive has been postponed until Nov. 15 & 16
Please note that the north end of Brooke Drive between Shuswap Avenue and the Chase Plaza access off Brooke Drive will be closed on November 15 and 16 from approximately 7:00 am to 3:00 pm for weather-dependent work. There will also be single lane alternating traffic on Shuswap Avenue for paving purposes.
When Brooke Drive is closed, a temporary detour route will be provided for vehicle and pedestrian access to the Plaza, Safety Mart, the Art Holding Memorial Arena and the Sun Valley and Cedar Flats complexes. The Chase Evangelical Free Church will be accessible via Ash Drive, which will be unaffected by the closure.
Residents in the identified work zone should park vehicles in the Art Holding Memorial Arena parking lot if they wish to use them during work hours on November 15th and 16th. This alternate temporary area will be marked with reflective delineators for clarity. Affected resident pedestrian traffic will be escorted in and out of the closure area as required.
The newly paved section of Brooke Drive will be open to only to those residing on that block overnight on November 15th.
You can expect to see many pieces of heavy equipment and ground workers in the area for the preparation and paving of Brooke Drive. CIF Construction will be bringing the road surface to grade and preparing it for paving on the first day of the closure and paving on the second. The closure will be in place to protect the quality of the final product as well as to guarantee the safety of CIF workers, Brooke Drive residents and the public. The road will be re-opened as quickly as possible when the work is complete.
