Please note that the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is temporarily extending hours of construction for the Hwy 1 Chase East Project. Beginning Sunday, August 18, construction may take place on Sundays between 5:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., in addition to regular construction Monday through Saturday.
The Ministry has advised that this change is in place to make up for lost time resulting from 2024 wildfire season restrictions, which require any construction activities that pose a high fire risk to be completed by 1 p.m. each day. Taking advantage of additional daylight hours will help keep everyone safe during wildfire season while completing scheduled 2024 construction work to avoid future project delays.
The contractor will have discretion about which days to work, so work may not happen every Sunday. Work is scheduled to take place Sunday August 18.
