There is an Environment Canada heat warning in effect for Chase and surrounding areas.
There is a Cooling Centre open at the Chase Library at 614 Shuswap Avenue from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, until conditions improve.
Cooling centres are important to human safety when daytime temperatures exceed 35 degrees and evening temperatures remain above 18 degrees.
Residents are reminded to stay safe during the heat and when possible, please check on high-risk individuals or others who may need assistance.
